Capoeira is a Brazilian art form which combines fight, dance, rhythm and movement. Capoeira is a dialog between players - a conversation through movement which can take on many shades of meaning. The object of the game is for the capoeiristas to use finesse, guile, and technique to manoeuvre one another into a defenseless position, rendering them open to a blow, kick or sweep.
Capoeira Aruanda is bringing its 6 week beginners course to The Living Room from June 11th 2009. Courses for both adults (Thursdays 8:15-9:15pm) and kids (Thursdays 4:45pm-5:30pm) will begin in June, and continue over the winter months.
You will learn the basic movements of capoeira, including attacks and defensive positions, movements and music to build a solid foundation for future improvement.
Capoeira improves your strength, flexibility, coordination, aerobic fitness while having fun! Contra Mestre Borracha has dedicated his life to Capoeira, and has been teaching the unique art form here in Australia for over 10 years.
