I did my hatha training with Amanda Fuzes and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is well- rounded, well-priced, allows you to find your own voice in teaching, and gives you the confidence to do so with support. I always send any students who ask about teacher training to Amanda,” Martine Allars, Little Lotus Yoga.
Amanda first practiced yoga in 1994 after her “hippyish” office colleagues took her to a corporate yoga class. This class was life changing and her spiritual journey pretty much commenced from that day. In 1997 Amanda completed her Hatha Yoga Teacher Training at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala. In 2004 she opened Prana Space in Rose Bay (formerly Rose Bay Yoga Room) – a boutique yoga studio that bucks all trends by maintaining tradition whilst still offering challenging and varied classes. In 2007 Amanda became a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Australia enabling her to start training her students to become Yoga Teachers. Her programmes are approved by Yoga Australia (350 hrs level 1; and 500 hrs level 2) and Yoga Alliance USA (RYT-200 & 500). Amanda also runs Children’s’ Yoga Teacher Training programmes at her Children’s yoga studio Flying Yogis.
In 2014 after her 2nd daughter turned 1, she decided to “restudy” and completed a 500hr training with the venerable Sri Dharma Mitra In New York. To date, she is one of two Dharma Yoga Teachers in Australia.
Amanda has been so inspired by her teachers- whether it was her Maths teacher, piano teacher or the “guru-like” yoga teachers, that she has spent her adult life studying the “magic” that is being a catalyst to making people feel better about themselves and creating positive change.
